![]() >It seems really nice, but it is something different. >This is completely irrelevant with VX Ace sorry. Most people can draw their own 32x32 pixel tilesets, so there is such a plenitude of tilesets, that it's comparable to claiming that people should pay for music, but by comparison, music actually takes effort to create. No tileset should be "pretty" enough to be profited from. >But don't you insult like that, so pretty assets like Celianna's or like the DS+ Pack. So because of my personal self esteem, I kindly request you to reconsider saying those words. I am NOT related to the staff, but if I won't stand for what is right here, then I deserve the same attitude on me in the future. What i disrespect and do not allow to happen without interfering, is calling someone with gratitude a cockroach. I have seen Unity projects (Unity rocks) that were lame. This is not what keeps someone from making a good game. The layers of VX Ace are an interesting issue. ![]() Parallax mapping is a great method with infinite power.Įvent layering is another way to overcome some issues with tiles. I hope you are not one of these guys who does that. You know, there is a bunch of people that think that spending $1 on a piece of software makes it worthless. Did you know that? Did you know that all DLCs here get many times a 75% discount? No? You can still go to Humble bundle store and buy the RPG Maker Weekly Bundle for $19. You know what humble bundle is? CHARITY SUPPORT. Plus VX Ace was on the Humble bundle. You could actually get the software (that contains a full engine by the way and resources to use) for just $1 some days ago. Thay still have to pay their bills you know. ![]() You have granted the right to use all the resources for commercial purposes.ĭoes that make the DLCs expensive? I don't think so dude.Īrtists are people like you and me with the same needs. Here with all the DLCs and the original program, if you got legit copies, Plus where are the Terms of Use for that? It seems really nice, but it is something different. This is completely irrelevant with VX Ace sorry. Those tiles are nothing special all right.īut don't you insult like that, so pretty assets like Celianna's or like the DS+ Pack. You are basically expected to use one tileset per map.ĭude, seriously, I can say that the RPG Maker initial tiles can just have the job done. It's not hard to remove the layering limitation, nor is it hard to remove the limitation for how many tiles a tileset can contain, yet this limitation has been the same for many years. It turns the horrible lack in RPG Maker, into profit, like cockroaches growing fat from dirt. There's also all these costly DLCs for content that lets you get away from the cramped tilesets of the original, for other cramped custom tilesets, for a price. There are online editors that tries to mitigate the lacking slanted roof tiles, but as you cannot combine more than two layers, the roof tiles will end up taking up half of your tileset. Often you have to resort to creating custom tiles themselves, whereupon you run into the limitation of the tileset, which is *another* annoying limitation that shouldn't be there at all. If you're savvy, you can use Shift to *fight* the auto-bordering that the editor uses, and get these two to co-exist in harmony. Not infinite (which is really easy to program). ![]() It's always been that way, and even that limitation can get frustrating if you're really savvy. On top of that (literally), it has 4 more layers for sprites. There's something else that's much worse, that's been with RPG Maker throughout its history, and that cannot be changed:Īs the title says, Knytt Stories (which is a platformer made by just one guy) has 4 layers of tiles that you can mix however you want. It's a mess, but that's very easily fixed. There's horribly shoddy default database content, like spelling axe "ax", rat "rate", and having said "rate" *bodyslam* you as an attack.
